Naji Marshall Honored By College Sports Madness As BIG EAST Player Of The Week

Musketeers jump back into the AP Top 25 at No. 23.
CINCINNATI --- Xavier University junior Naji Marshall has been named BIG EAST Conference Player of the Week by College Sports Madness and has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll by the league office.
Marshall averaged 27.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.0 blocks and 2.5 steals a game in Xavier's wins this week over Green Bay on Dec. 4 and Cincinnati on Dec. 7, while shooting 58.8 percent from the field. Marshall scored a career-high tying 31 points, matching his effort in the win at St. John's last season, on a career-high 12 field goals made to go with a career-high five steals in the win over Cincinnati on Saturday.
Marshall leads Xavier in scoring at 17.0 ppg. (fourth in the BIG EAST) and assists at 3.7 apg. (ninth in the BIG EAST), while ranking second in rebounding at 6.0 rpg. (10th in the BIG EAST).
Xavier, which returned the to the AP Top 25 this week at No. 23, jumped up to No. 16 in the ESPN Power Rankings on Monday. XU, 9-1, is off during the week due to semester exams and plays at Wake Forest this Saturday in the Skip Prosser Classic.
