"On the men's side, I was really happy with the way Tom ran his prelim in the mile. He executed the race plan perfectly by not letting it go tactical. That's not easy for a freshman to do, especially when he's running against some of the top milers in the country. He should have a solid shot at our school record in the final tomorrow."
"I was also happy to see Chris back in the finals of the 60-meter dash. He's been hurt for a few weeks but was still able to salvage his last indoor BIG EAST Championship. The men's DMR which was actually a "B" team ran really well. All four had solid splits and held on to sixth for a medal."
Â
"We had another freshman make the final of the mile on the women's side. Courtney has a ton of talent and should be a significant contributor to our team over the next four years. I'm excited to see how she handles her first mile final. In the 60-meter hurdles, Kara is a perennial power that made her 4th indoor BIG EAST final."
"I took a little bit of a gamble by putting Sheridan in the 200-meter dash but it paid off. She made the final in what I think is her best race ever in a Xavier uniform. Finally, our 5K women got it done in the finals today. Anna ran a great race to take 4th which I believe is our best finish in the event since entering the BIG EAST and Jennie came in clutch with the eighth place finish to grab the last scoring place. That was big for Jennie since she just missed out on scoring last year in the 3000-meter steeple as a freshman."
