"We finished out day two of the indoor championships really strong. The team support was enormous today in our relays and it showed on the track. I was looking for our women's mid-distance crew to turn things around in the 4x800 relay since we didn't qualify anyone in the 800 final and they exceeded my expectations by crushing our school record. I was equally excited with our men's relays. The 4x800Â relay hung in there with some of the best mid-distance guys in the country to break our school record and the 4x400Â relay destroyed their own school record from earlier this season."
Â
"In the open events, freshman Thomas Gardiner had a great first championship in the mile. He's dropped seven seconds off his high school best in just a matter of months and was just off our school record of 4:11.1. Coming off of her impressive performance in the 5,000-meter run on Friday, Anna Kostarellis scored again in the 3,000-meter run which is one of the best events in our conference. Her time was also her second best ever and 15 seconds faster than what her personal best was just a few weeks ago. I thought she had a great double this weekend and I can't wait to see what she can do this outdoor season."

• The outdoor track and field season begins on Saturday, March 23 at the Blizzard Buster in Oxford, Ohio.
