Scruggs posted career-highs of 28 points and 11 rebounds vs. Villanova
NEW YORK --- Xavier University sophomore guard Paul Scruggs has been named to the BIG EAST Conference Championship All-Tournament Team. Scruggs averaged 18.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists for Xavier's two tournament games.
Scruggs led Xavier with a career-high 28 points, a career-high 11 rebounds and seven assists (one shy of his career high) in the 71-67 overtime loss to eventual champion Villanova in the semifinals.
Xavier, 18-15 overall, will learn its postseason fate on Sunday. XU has won seven of its last nine games, a stretch that includes wins over Villanova, at Seton Hall, St. John's (home and away), Creighton (home and neutral site) and at Providence.
