Men's Golf Returns to Action at FAU Spring Classic This Weekend

PALM BEACH, Fla. - Xavier men's golf returns to the links this upcoming weekend after a short break to the FAU Spring Classic hosted at Osprey Point Golf Course.

The last tournament the Musketeers participated in was the Pinehurst Intercollegiate on March 8-10.

XU's lineup will consist of Martin Jaramillo, Garrett Wood, Nick Frey, Hunter Roberts, and Michael Prebles.

Martin Jaramillo is coming off of his best finish of the season at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate. He carded a 220 (+7) and finished tied for eighth place. Jaramillo ranks 26th in the BIG EAST currently.

Garrett Wood leads the Musketeers with an average score of 74.87 and a versus-par of 3.27. He ranks 19th in the BIG EAST so far this season.

Nick Frey and Michael Prebles have played in all five tournaments of the season so far. Frey has an average of 76.80 and a versus-par of 5.20 while Prebles shoots an average of 76.60 and has a versus-par of 5.00 over 15 rounds.

The Musketeers look to continue their strong play of late at the FAU Spring Classic.

FORMAT

The tournament consists of 54 holes over three days plus a practice round the day prior to the event.

The first round begins at 10 a.m. on Friday with a split tee start (holes #1 and #10).

PARTICIPATING TEAMS

14 teams are heading into this weekend's tournament, including: Florida Atlantic, UCF, Xavier, UConn, Hartford, Bethune-Cookman, Houston Baptist, Georgetown, Murray State, Rhode Island, Southern Illinois, Florida Gulf Coast, Miami (Ohio) and George Mason.
