Women's Golf Wins BIG EAST Championship, Fitzpatrick Captures Individual Title

OKATIE, S.C. - Xavier women's golf won the BIG EAST Championships on Sunday afternoon, claiming the program's first conference title in program history. Junior Mikayla Fitzpatrick also captured the individual title, winning by nine strokes.

The three day tournament was played at the Dogwood and Magnolia Courses at Callawassie Island Golf Club (Par 73; 6,525 yards).

Xavier will participate in one of four NCAA Regionals that will be played on May 6-8. The four locations are: Auburn, Ala. (hosted by Auburn University), East Lansing, Mich. (hosted by Michigan State University), Norman, Okla. (hosted by the University of Oklahoma) and Cle Elum, Wash. (hosted by the University of Washington).

The NCAA National Championships are on May 17-22 in Fayetteville, Ark.

I think that's one of the biggest reasons we've had the year we've had, it's been a total team effort!"
