EAST LANSING, Mich. - Xavier women's golf returns to the links at the NCAA Regional tournament in East Lansing on May 6-8.

Xavier was given the 16 seed in the regional following their BIG EAST title on April 19-21. XU will bring a team of five consisting of Mikayla Fitzpatrick, Mikayla Smith, Lyndsey Hunnell, Andie Shukow, and Morgan Tinsley while having an alternate available.

Junior Mikayla Fitzpatrick comes off an outstanding season that resulted in a BIG EAST individual and team title, All-BIG EAST honors, and the BIG EAST Golfer of the Year. Fitzpatrick leads Xavier with an average score of 73.33 and a versus-par of 1.70. She ended the season ranked first in the BIG EAST and will look to continue her strong performance.

Senior Mikayla Smith earned all-conference honors following her performance this year and at the BIG EAST Championship. Smith finished the regular season ranked sixth in the BIG EAST with an average of 75.67 and a versus-par of 4.03.

Graduate Senior Lyndsey Hunnell was awarded all-BIG EAST honors along with her teammates. Hunnell finished the conference championship tied for eighth while averaging 75.04 and a versus-par of 3.44 through the entire season. She finished the regular season ranked third in conference.

The Musketeers will also be bringing Andie Shukow and Morgan Tinsley to the NCAA Regional. Shukow finished the BIG EAST Championship tied for eighth while Tinsley finished in 16th.

FORMAT

The NCAA Regional tournament will consist of 54 holes over three days.

Each day will begin with a split tee start on the first and tenth holes.

PARTICIPATING TEAMS/INDIVIDUALS

The NCAA Regionals have 18 teams and six individuals competing in each tournament. The teams participating, in order of seed number, are Stanford, Arizona, Kent State, UCLA, Michigan State, Campbell, Illinois, Baylor, North Carolina, Georgia, Louisville, Augusta, LSU, Indiana, Long Beach State, Xavier, Harvard, and IUPUI.

The six individuals competing are Hee Ying Loy (East Tennessee State), Emma Albrecht (Notre Dame), Kirsty Hodgkins (Colorado), Cecilie Finne-Ipsen (UNC-Charlotte), Ashley Lau (Michigan), and Tereza Melecka (East Tennessee State).
