"I believe your schedule should meet the needs of your group, match with your aspirations as a program and also reflect the level of your conference and I think this years does all of that."
"While this is a newer team relying on some new players in some regard, it's also a veteran team as several guys logged major minutes last year. We have four fifth year seniors and four others in their fourth year of collegiate soccer. With our expectations to be a Top 25, at large NCAA tournament program, the balance and standard of the opponents align with that very well."
"Off the bat I expect MSU, Akron and Kentucky to all be pre-season top team teams. Akron on opening night at home is as big a game as we've had here in a while and shows my confidence in this group. Most non-league games are second legs of series or mainstays with UNC Asheville and Memphis being first time opponents for us."
Xavier will also play three exhibition matches before opening regular-season action. The Musketeers travel to Ohio State on Aug. 17 before playing host to Valparaiso (Aug. 20) and Michigan State (Aug. 23).
