Men's Basketball Hosts No. 12 Villanova On Saturday Afternoon

CINCINNATI --- The Xavier University Musketeers, 17-9 overall and 6-7 in the BIG EAST Conference, host the No. 12 Villanova University Wildcats, 20-6 overall and 9-4 in the BIG EAST, on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Cintas Center. Xavier has won four of its last five BIG EAST games, including three road wins, while Villanova enters the game with a three-game winning streak.

Saturday's game will be broadcast on FOX National, including FOX 19 in Cincinnati.

• Xavier has won four of its last five BIG EAST games, a stretch that includes three road wins. XU has two straight games and three of its last five at Cintas Center.
• Xavier junior Naji Marshall leads the team in scoring at 16.1 ppg. (seventh in the BIG EAST) and in assists at 3.8 apg. (seventh in the BIG EAST) and is second in rebounding at 6.1 rpg. (10th in the BIG EAST).
• Xavier junior Naji Marshall is 33rd on XU's all-time scoring list (1,158) and senior Tyrique Jones is 37th (1,122). Junior Jason Carter is at 1,014 collegiate points (836 at Ohio) and senior Quentin Goodin has 999 points.
• Xavier senior Tyrique Jones leads the BIG EAST and is third in the nation in double-doubles with 18, including each of the last eight games. Jones, who is averaging 13.8 ppg. and 11.3 rpg., is on target to be the first XU player to average a double-double for a season since 2003 National Player of the Year David West did it as senior in the 2002-03 season.
