Men's Swimming Secured BIG EAST Title, Women Finished in Third

Xavier swimming closes the season by earning three new school records on the final day.
EAST MEADOWS, NY – Men's swimming claimed the 2020 BIG EAST Championship title this evening while the women finished the season in third.
For the men, Andrew Martin won the 1,650 free, setting an NCAA B-Cut time. in addition, Martin set a new school record for the event, beating the previous record by over 19 seconds. Landon Clark repeated as the 200 fly champion while setting a new school record in the event. With Brandon Abboud's second place finish in the 200 fly, secured the men's overall victory. In the 200 breast prelims, Jon Bernard set the third school record of the day with a time of 1:59.70. Davis Klein and Noah Coomler both took first place finishes in the B-Finals.
On the women's side, Taylor Hogan won the conference championship in the 200 fly. In the 400 free relay Emily Saugstad, Abigail Gartner, Erin Merke and Emily Conners tied with Villanova for the first-place victory, both touching the wall at 3:21.62. In the B-Finals, Kelly Harris delivered a victory in the 200 breaststroke.
