QUEENS, N.Y. -Β Xavier women's basketball ended regular-season action with a 74-37 loss at St. John's on Sunday afternoon. Xavier dropped to 3-26 (2-16 BIG EAST), while the Red Storm improved to 18-11 (11-7 BIG EAST).

β’ St. John's opened the game on a 10-2 run on 3-for-4 shooting, forcing a Xavier timeout. The Red Storm led by as many as 14 points twice in the opening frame before taking a 24-12 advantage into the second quarter. St. John's was 7-for-13 from the floor in the opening quarter with five 3-pointers.
β’ St. John's and Xavier combined to go 6-for-32 in the second quarter as neither squad could get their offense going. The Red Storm outscored Xavier, 10-9, in the frame to take a 34-21 advantage into the locker room.
β’ Sarah Leyendecker paced the Musketeers with six points at the break, while Carrie Gross added four points.Β
