Altenberger's two-RBI double not enough to beat the Trojans
LOS ANGELES, CA -Â Xavier baseball took an early lead on the Trojans in unfriendly territory, but ultimately couldn't hang on and fell by a score of 3-7 in Southern California. Things started off well for the Musketeers, as they capitalized with the bases loaded and nobody out in the third with three runs. One scored on an error, while Altenberger's double to deep left-center scored two more. However, USC came back in the 5th with five runs, and tacked on two more in the 7th to clinch the win.
The Musketeers will be back for the final series of the West Coast road trip, with Game 1 against Cal State Fullerton slated to begin at 10:00 p.m. ET, Friday, March 13.

3rd INNING |Â With the bases loaded and nobody out, Natale Monastra reached on an error which scored Andrew Sexton. The next batter, Altenberger doubled to deep left-center to score Housinger and Franzoni and give Xavier the 3-0 lead.
The Musketeers will be back for the final series of the West Coast road trip, with Game 1 against Cal State Fullerton slated to begin at 10:00 p.m. ET, Friday, March 13.
