Xavier Drops Non-Conference Match at Dayton

DAYTON, OH.  - In the midst of five matches in nine days, Xavier lost their final non-conference match of the season at Dayton. 15 Musketeers saw action as the final came to 20-25, 21-25, 16-25 in favor of the Flyers.
Xavier is now 9-8 this season, while Dayton moves to 14-5.

• Senior Norah Painter and Freshman Emma Grace shared the team-lead in kills tonight with seven. Painter had an ace and four digs, while Grace has a .357 hit percentage and seven digs.Â
• Carrigan O'Reilly showed her versatility tonight, accounting for six kills at a .308 clip, 17 assists and a team-high eight digs.
• Seniors Moriah Hopkins and Ellie Chaffee had similar nights: They each had three kills without error, and combined on Xavier's two blocks. Hopkins had a .375 hit percentage while Chaffee claimed the team lead at .500.
• Other notables were Alyssa Overbeck, who led Xavier with eight digs, and Mackenzie Mangette, who recorded her first ace of the season.

• Xavier finishes a grueling stretch with matches against Georgetown and Villanova this Friday and Saturday from the Cintas Center.
