
Hopkins, O'Toole Lead Musketeers to Four-Set Win Over Hoyas

Maryann O'Toole had 12 kills and 10 digs on Friday Night
CINCINNATI - Moriah Hopkins and MaryAnn O'Toole led the Xavier volleyball team to a four-set win (17-25, 26-24, 25-15, 25-22) over Georgetown on Friday night.
The Musketeers won both matches between the two schools this year, moving to 10-8 (5-2 BIG EAST) on the year. The Hoyas moved to 5-13 (1-6 BIG EAST) on the season and dropped its fourth straight match vs the Musketeers.
• Moriah Hopkins led the Musketeers with 13 kills, her fifth match of the season with 10 or more kills. She tied Georgetown's Peyton Wilhite for the match high in kills (13).
• MaryAnn O'Toole added 12 kills and 10 digs for her third double-double of the season. The outside hitter added a .312 hitting percentage.
• Delaney Hogan added eight kills and team-high four blocks. Emma Grace chipped in six kills, nine digs and two aces.
• Carrigan O'Reilly was three kills away from her third triple-double of the season (seven kills, 34 assists, 16 digs). The setter added two blocks and posted a .316 hitting percentage.
• Alyssa Overbeck led three Musketeers with double-figure digs, posting a team-high 16 digs. The libero added a match-high three aces. Stevie Wolf chipped in 11 digs and one ace.
• The Hoyas had four more total team blocks (9-5) than the Musketeers. Xavier recorded three more aces (8-5) than Georgetown. All told, the mach had 15 ties and seven lead changes.
• Xavier moved to 16-2 in the all-time series with Georgetown, including a 9-1 mark in matches played at Cintas Center.
• Xavier returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 16 vs Villanova. First serve is set for 4 p.m. from Cintas Center.
