CINCINNATI - Xavier women's golf concludes its fall schedule on Oct. 30-31 with the Crosstown Shootout vs Cincinnati. The two-day tournament is being played at two different courses.

The first round of match play gets underway on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 12:45 p.m. from Maketewah CC. The final round starts at 11 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 31 at Losantiville CC.

LAST TIME OUT

• Xavier women's golf placed fifth at the Palmetto Intercollegiate hosted by the College of Charleston Oct. 25-26. The two-day tournament was held at Kiawah Island Resort – Turtle Point.

• The Musketeers posted a 54-hole score of 879 (+15), ranking fifth in a field of 16 teams. Freshman Kara Carter posted her second top-five finish in as many tournaments, pacing the Musketeers with a fourth-place finish (212, -4).

NOTABLES

• Head coach Breanna Jenco returns for her seventh season with the Musketeers. She earned BIG EAST Coach of the Year honors in the spring of 2021, picking up the accolades for the third time in her career.

• Xavier enters the season as the two-time defending BIG EAST Champions. The Musketeers won the the conference title on April 25, finishing 13 strokes ahead of Seton Hall in the team standings. Xavier also advanced to its second straight NCAA Regional.

• Xavier returns two letterwinners from its BIG EAST Championship team roster in Abby Kiefer and Emma McMyler. Both players tied for eighth at the conference championships.

• Emma McMyler was also named the BIG EAST Freshman and Player of the Year, becoming the first golfer to earn both awards in the same season since Notre Dame's Lindsey Weaver in 2013. She led all BIG EAST players in lowest scoring average (73.59), while ranking 113th nationally.

• Xavier also returns Kayla Benge, Erin Kim and Abby Whittington. Kim played two rounds at the NCAA Louisville Regional as a substitute (injury) for Abby Kiefer.
