The Musketeers move to 11-1-1 overall and 4-1 in BIG EAST play

CINCINNATI - Ella Rogers' third goal as a Musketeer helped Xavier women's soccer pick up a 1-0 win over St. John's at Corcoran Field on Thursday evening. Xavier moves to 11-1-1 overall and 4-1 in BIG EAST play.

The Musketeers held an 11-2 advantage on shots and 5-0 advantage on shots in the first half but neither team found the back of the net to send it to halftime in a 0-0 draw.

Less than five minute after the break, Ella Rogers scored from Chloe Netzel to put the Musketeers in front with the eventual game-winner. SJU created five shots, including two on-goal and a corner kick in the second half but were unable to find the equalizer to give Xavier its third-straight shutout win.

Xavier goes on the road for its next match-up, a Sunday afternoon game at Seton Hall. First touch with the Pirates is set for 1:00 p.m.

SCORING RECAP

49' | XAVIER | Chloe Netzel served the ball into the box from the right side, finding Ella Rogers in front of the net. Rogers brought down Netzel's serve with a header, then knocked in the rebound to put Xavier ahead, 1-0.

NOTABLE

Ella Rogers' goal was her third of the season and her first game-winner. She now has six points so far in her freshman season.
Chloe Netzel added to her team-high point total with an assist on Rogers' goal, her second helper of the season, to go with four goals for 10 points.
Xavier finished with an 18-7 advantage overall on shots and a 6-3 advantage on shots on-frame. Chloe Netzel finished with seven shots to lead the Musketeers and Ella Rogers had four.
Olivia Jenkins collected a pair of saves to pick up her 11th win of the season, adding to her already school-record total for wins in a single season.
Hayley Jakovich and Grace Brauer also played the full 90 minutes for the Xavier backline to help pick up the seventh shutout of the season and third clean sheet in a row. The Musketeer defense has clocked 270-straight minutes without allowing a score.
