Musketeers Hit Century Mark in Exhibition Win over Ferris State

CINCINNATI - In the lone exhibition of the season, Xavier men's basketball hit the 100-point mark, led by 20-point performances by Adam Kunkel and Dwon Odom, to top Ferris State, 100-59, at Cintas Center on Friday evening.
Colby Jones added a double-double for the Musketeers, finishing with 18-11 after leading Xavier in the first half, joining Kunkel and Odom as the three Musketeers in double figures for the game.

FIRST HALF |
- Xavier jumped out to a 4-0 lead before five straight from Ferris State put the Bulldogs ahead, 5-4, the only time FSU would lead.
- A Nate Johnson three pointer ended the FSU run and Xavier scored the next six to start an 11-3 Musketeer run to put Xavier in control of the game, leading by as many as 12 in the first 10 minutes.
- Colby Jones scored eight-straight Musketeer points, pushing the Musketeer advantage to 20.
- The Musketeers led by as many as 26 in the first half, taking a 52-26 lead into halftime.
- Jones had 14 first half points to lead all scorers.
- The Musketeers shot 20-38 (52.6 percent) from the floor for the first 20 minutes.

- Four early points from Jerome Hunter and Dwon Odom in the second half helped Xavier extend the lead to as many as 29, 65-38, in the first 10 minutes of the second half.
- An Adam Kunkel three at the 10:50 mark gave Xavier a 30-point lead before Ferris State scored five straight to cut the lead to 25, 70-45, the closest they'd be the rest of the way.
- The Musketeers outscored the Bulldogs 16-5 over the next 3:36 to push the lead out to 36, 86-50, with six minutes to play.
- Xavier out scored Ferris State 17-9 over the final six minutes, with 11 points coming from Adam Kunkel, to lead by as many as 43, 100-57, before the Musketeers won, 100-59.
- Kunkel led Xavier with 16 points in the second half, going 4-6 from three for the half and 4-4 from outside over the final 10 minutes.
- Dwon Odom scored 12 in the second half, going 10-10 from the free throw line.
- The Musketeers went 13-32 (40.6 percent) from the floor, connecting on five threes.

- Adam Kunkel led the Musketeers with 21 points after scoring 11 points in the final six minutes of the game. Kunkel finished 4-7 from outside, connecting on his last four three outside shots.

- Colby Jones chipped in a double-double, finishing with 18 points and grabbing a team-high 11 rebounds.
