CINCINNATI --- The Xavier University Musketeers, 7-1, host the Ball State University Cardinals, 3-4, on Wednesday night at Cintas Center. This game opens a four-game homestand.
Xavier is coming off its third straight win, a 77-71 victory at Oklahoma State on Sunday. XU is looking for its 15th straight victory over a team from the Mid-American Conference.

• Xavier's Nate Johnson was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for the second straight week after leading XU in scoring at 19.5 ppg. for the wins over Central Michigan and at Oklahoma State. XU has had a player honored four weeks in a row.
• Xavier senior Paul Scruggs, 2021-22 preseason All-BIG EAST First Team, is in the top 25 on Xavier's all-time scoring list with 1,342 points and the top 10 on Xavier's all-time assist leaders chart with 408.
• Xavier sophomore Colby Jones leads the BIG EAST in rebounding (9.7 rpg.) and leads the team in steals (1.7 spg.). He leads the BIG EAST and is fourth in the nation in offensive rebounding (4.6 rpg.). He is second on the team in scoring and assists.
• Xavier junior Jack Nunge is fourth on the team in scoring at 11.3 ppg. and is second on the team in rebounding at 6.9 rpg. (12th in the BIG EAST), including his collegiate career-high 14-rebound games in wins vs. Virginia Tech and Ohio State.
• Xavier junior Zach Freemantle, who led XU in scoring at 16.1 ppg. and rebounding at 8.9 rpg. last season, played his first minutes of the season against Central Michigan and at Oklahoma State. He had been sidelined following foot surgery.
