Paul Scruggs Earns Another BIG EAST Conference Honor

Scruggs has been honored three times this season in the league weekly honors.
CINCINNATI --- Xavier University senior captain Paul Scruggs has been named to the weekly BIG EAST Conference Honor Roll for the second time this season after scoring a game-high 24 points in the win at Butler on Jan. 30 on the strength of 9-13 shooting to go with seven rebounds. It's the third time he has won a weekly league honor.
Scruggs, an Indianapolis native, scored 13 of his points in the final 9:16, including a stretch where he made nine straight Xavier points. Scruggs, a preseason BIG EAST Second Team selection, was named BIG EAST Player of the Week on Dec. 21 and earned a spot on the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Nov. 30.
Scruggs is second on the team in scoring at 14.6 ppg., which ranks 13th in the BIG EAST, and leads the BIG EAST and is 19th in the nation in assists at 6.0 apg.
Xavier is 11-2 overall and 4-2 in the BIG EAST Conference.
