Musketeers Fall in Five Sets on Saturday Afternoon at DePaul

Xavier returns to action on Feb. 26 at Kansas
CHICAGO - Xavier volleyball dropped a five-set match (27-25, 25-19, 20-25, 24-26, 12-15) at DePaul on Saturday afternoon.
Xavier moved to 3-4 (1-1 BIG EAST), while the Blue Demons improved to 1-3 (1-1 BIG EAST).
• Norah Painter was the lone Musketeer with double-figure kills as the outside hitter finished with a season-high 14 kills. She now has 16 career matches with 10 or more kills. She added two digs and two blocks.
• Freshman Stevie Wolf had seven aces and eight digs. The seven aces are the most by a BIG EAST player this season and are tied for the third most in the NCAA in a single match this season (five sets).
• Carrigan O'Reilly posted a match-high 42 assists to go along with seven kills and seven digs. She added one block.
• Ellie Chaffee added nine kills and three blocks. Delaney Hogan chipped in six kills and four blocks (three solo, one assist).
• Moriah Hopkins posted a team-high .455 hitting percentage with five kills and four digs. MaryAnn O'Toole added 13 digs and four kills.
• DePaul held a 12-11 advantage in aces and had seven more total team blocks (14-7) than the Musketeers. The 11 aces are a season-high for the Musketeers. The last time Xavier had 11 aces in a match was on Sept. 13, 2014 vs Syracuse (W, 3-0).
• Xavier returns to Kansas on Friday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. ET.
