Xavier Tops Jayhawks in Four Sets on Friday Night

Four Musketeers had 10 or more kills vs Kansas
LAWRENCE, Kan. - Kelly Franxman led four Musketeers in double-figure kills on Friday night with a career-high 17, leading the Xavier volleyball team to a four-set win (29-27, 25-22, 20-25, 25-22) at Kansas.
Xavier improved to 4-4 on the year, while the Jayhawks dropped to 5-10.
• Kelly Franxman posted a career-high 17 kills vs the Jayhawks, her fourth match of the season with 10 or more kills. She added 15 digs for her third career double-double. Franxman also recorded two of the Musketeers four aces in the match.
• Xavier had four players with 10 or more kills in a match for the first time this season. The last time four players had 10 or more kills was on Nov. 9, 2019 at Seton Hall.
• MaryAnn O'Toole added 14 kills and 21 digs for her fifth double-double of the season. The outside hitter also posted a team-high .342 hitting percentage.
• Delaney Hogan and Moriah Hopkins both added 12 kills for the Musketeers. Hogan also had a team-high four blocks (three assist, one solo).
• Carrigan O'Reilly posted a season-high 62 assists to go along with four kills, five digs and two blocks. The 62 assists are the most by a BIG EAST player this season and the second-most in the NCAA (four-set match).
• Alyssa Overbeck added a match-high 26 digs. Stevie Wolf chipped in 12 digs and two assists.
• Ellie Chaffee posted nine kills, two aces and one block. The middle blocker added a .278 hitting percentage.
• Kansas held a 10-7 advantage in total team blocks. Xavier had one more ace (4-3) than the Jayhawks.
• Xavier moved to 2-3 in the all-time series vs Kansas.
• Xavier returns to action on Tuesday, March 9 vs Dayton. First serve is slated for 5 p.m. from Cintas Center.
