Baseball Falls in Series Finale at Texas A&M

Musketeers back in action next weekend at Wofford
BRYAN-COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Xavier baseball fell in the series finale at Texas A&M, moving to 2-1 on the season after securing the series win by sweeping the doubleheader on Saturday.
Texas A&M went ahead 4-0 in the first two innings, playing add on the rest of the way, scoring in seven innings including a seven-run seventh inning to take the game, 15-0. Xavier collected five hits and five walks on the day, leaving 12 runners on base.
Xavier won the season-opening series for a second-straight season, also taking two of three at Memphis in 2020.
The Musketeers are back in action next weekend, traveling to Spartanburg, S.C. to face Wofford in four games, starting Friday, February 26 at 5:00 p.m.

- Natale Monastra finished 1-of-2 at the plate, talking a walk as well. Monastra batted .333 for the series.
- Jonathan Kelly finished 1-of-2 with a walk, batting .417 for the opening series.

- Dorsey Chatham entered in the second inning, with two on and one out, getting the Musketeers out of the inning with a strikeout and a ground ball. Chatham went 2.2 innings in his debut as a Musketeer, allowing one earned run on two hits and a walk, striking out three.
- Jared Gadd entered in the fifth inning, his debut for the Musketeers, going 0.2 innings, allowing one earned run on two hits and a walk.
- Sam Czabala closed out the fifth inning, getting a fly out to get out a bases loaded situation. Czabala stayed in to pick up the first out of the sixth, allowing one run on one hit.
- Evan Miller entered for the final two outs of the sixth, walking one, but getting the Musketeers out of the inning without allowing another run to score.
- Connor Bailey entered in the seventh inning, facing eight batters, allowing five earned runs on three hits and five walks.
- Trevor Olson came in to relieve Bailey in the seventh, going 2.0 innings, allowing just one run on two hits with three strikeouts.Â
