Musketeers Fall on Wednesday Night to Pirates

Freshman Shaulana Wagner scored a season-high 11 points
CINCINNATIÂ - Xavier women's basketball dropped a 108-65 BIG EAST game vs Seton Hall on Wednesday night at Cintas Center. The Musketeers moved to 4-9 (1-8 BIG EAST) on the year, while the Pirates improved to 12-6 (10-5 BIG EAST).
The Pirates connected on a school-record 17 three pointers on the night. Seton Hall hit 60.7 percent (17-for-28) of its three pointers and posted a .619 field-goal percentage (39-for-63).

• Xavier went 5-for-5 from the floor to open the game, taking an 11-8 advantage over the Pirates at the 5:56 mark. Seton Hall outscored Xavier, 28-16, in the final six minutes of the quarter, taking a 30-16 advantage.
• The Pirates opened the second frame on a 7-0 run and outscored Xavier, 23-14, in the quarter to take a 53-30 lead into the break.
• Kae Satterfield led the Musketeers with eight points at halftime on 4-for-5 shooting. Nia Clark and Shaulana Wagner both added seven points.Â
• Xavier held a 19-14 advantage on the glass, while the Pirates scored 17 more points off of turnovers (19-2).

• Xavier scored 20 points in the final quarter behind a .571 field-goal percentage (8-for-14), its highest scoring period on the night. Seton Hall kept up the hot shooting as they went 9-for-13 in the frame, pulling away for the 108-65 victory.

• Nia Clark added eight points and two rebounds. Carrie Gross chipped in six points, four assists and three rebounds. Aaliyah Dunham dished out a team-high five assists.
• Xavier grabbed two more rebounds (31-29) than the Pirates. Seton Hall held a 35-11 advantage in points off of turnovers and scored seven more second-chance points (13-6).
