Musketeers back in action tomorrow with Eastern Michigan
CINCINNATIÂ - Xavier women's tennis opened the season with a win, topping Illinois-Chicago, 5-2, at Camargo Racquet Club on Friday evening. Xavier jumped out to a lead in doubles, then won the first three decision in singles to secure the win.
The Musketeers are back in action tomorrow, facing Eastern Michigan at 5:00 p.m. at Eastern Hills Indoor.

Xavier jumped out to an early 1-0 lead by taking the doubles point with a 6-0 win in the No. 3 spot for Kaitlin Ruether and Imani Graham, followed by a 6-1 win in the No. 1 spot for Ahmeir Kyle and Emily Thomas. Kat Lyman and Anna Roggenburk led 5-2 in the No. 2 spot when the point was decided.
Xavier made it a 2-0 lead when Imani Graham, in her first collegiate match, picked up a second win for the day, this time in the No. 4 singles spot, 6-3, 6-0. The lead extended to three with a 6-4, 6-2 win for Ahmeir Kyle in No. 1 singles.
Kat Lyman scored the deciding point for the Musketeers with her second win in her debut for Xavier, a 6-4, 6-2 win in the No. 3 spot.
UIC picked up a point in the next decision, a 6-1, 6-4 win against Emily Thomas in the No. 4 spot.Â
Anna Roggenburk set the Musketeers' final total at five with a 6-3, 5-7, 10-6 win in No. 2 singles, and the final score was set at 5-2 with a win for UIC in the No. 6 spot, 7-6 (6), 2-6, 10-6, over Kaitlin Ruether.
