Senior Paul Scruggs Named To All-BIG EAST Second Team

CINCINNATI --- Xavier University senior guard Paul Scruggs has been selected to the All-BIG EAST Conference Second Team by the league coaches. Teammate Zach Freemantle, a sophomore forward, joins Scruggs on the Second Team. Guard Colby Jones is on the All-Freshman Team.

Scruggs leads the BIG EAST and is 15^th in the nation in assists at 5.8 apg. Scruggs, who is second on the team and 11^th in the BIG EAST in scoring at 14.2 ppg., has come up big on the defensive end as well, ranking third in the BIG EAST in steals at 1.6 spg.

Scruggs, who is 30^th on Xavier's all-time scoring list with 1,236 points, was a preseason Second Team All-BIG EAST selection. Scruggs earned a spot on the 2019 All-BIG EAST Tournament Team as a sophomore.
