Musketeers outlast Lipscomb in Cintas Center Friday Night

CINCINNATI OH. - In their first time back at Cintas Center for the Fall 2021 season, Xavier survived a five-set battle with Lipscomb. The Musketeers traded points, rallies and sets, but ultimately came away with the victory by a score of 23-25, 25-23, 25-18, 19-25, 15-12.

Xavier is now 4-3 on the season, and must prepare for a test tomorrow night against No. 10 Louisville.

NOTABLES

• Moriah Hopkins and Kelly Franxman were the kill leaders for Xavier with 10. Hopkins fired with a hit percentage of .429, and Franxman followed with .125. They each had two blocks, with one of Franxman's being a solo block.

• Delaney Hogan had a solid night, recording nine kills at a .280 clip, and tallying three blocks on the defensive end.

• Ellie Chaffee, Norah Painter and Carrigan O'Reilly each had five kills to spread out the Xavier attack, and defensively the trio combined for six blocks (three solo).

• Lucia Corsaro and Kelly Franxman each had two aces in the match, with Corsaro going error-free in 22 services.

•O'Reilly had a match-high 34 assists to go along with six digs. Stevie Wolf had a match-high 22 digs to lead both sides.
