Xavier Swimming Announces Schedule for 2021-22

CINCINNATI - Xavier men's and women's swimming announced the meet schedule for the 2021-22 season this week, ahead of the season-opening Butler Quad on Sunday, September 26.

The Musketeers will take part in 12 meets, including six duals, leading up the 2022 BIG EAST Championships, held at the Nassau County Aquatic Center in East Meadow, N.Y.

Butler Quad
September 26, 2021
Fishers High School - Fishers, Ind.

Xavier last took part in the Butler Quad meet in September 2019, facing off against Evansville and Saint Louis on the men's side, as well as Butler on the women's side.
The Musketeer women won eight races to take the top spot at the 2019 meet, marking the fifth-straight win at the event for the Xavier women.
The Xavier men won nine events, also taking the top spot at the meet.

at Louisville
October 1, 2021
Ralph Wright Natatorium - Louisville, Ky.

Louisville's men are coming off an ACC Championship, finishing fifth at the NCAA Championships, while the women finished third in the conference, finishing 13th at the NCAA meet.
Xavier last faced the Cardinals in October 2019, picking up a pair of event wins but falling on both sides. Jon Bernard collected one of the event wins, in the 100 breast.

Alumni/Intrasquad Meet
October 9, 2021
Heidt Family Champions Center - Cincinnati, Ohio

The Musketeers will host an meet for the current squad to compete against program alumni at the Heidt Family Champions Center.

Akron Zips Classic
October 15-16, 2021
Ocasek Natatorium - Akron, Ohio

Xavier last took part in the Akron Zips Classic in October 2019, competing against Miami (Ohio), Denison and Cleveland State on both sides, as well as Akron on the women's side.
Both teams finished in third place in the 2019 event.

at Oakland
October 23, 2021
Oakland Aquatic Center - Rochester, Mich.

The Golden Grizzlies are coming off a 2020-21 season where both squads brought home Horizon League championships.
Xavier last traveled to Oakland in January 2014.

at Denison
October 30, 2021
Trumbull Aquatics Center - Granville, Ohio

The Big Red did not compete in a conference meet in 2021, but the women claimed the 2020 NCAC Championship, and the men finished second.
Last February, the Musketeers picked nine combined event wins, but fell on both sides. Kali Fischer won a pair of events on the women's side, while Ben Quon, Andrew Martin and Roark Lundal won events on the men's side.

CSU Magnus Cup
November 18-20
Busbey Natatorium - Cleveland, Ohio

The Magnus Cup is the final team event of the Fall semester, where Xavier will compete against multiple teams in a three-day event.
Xavier last attended the Magnus Cup in November 2019, where the Musketeers women took the top spot, while the Xavier men finished second.

Toyota US Open
December 1-4, 2021
Greensboro Aquatic Center - Greensboro, N.C.

Select Musketeers with qualifying times will travel to Greensboro for the Toyota US Open.
Xavier last sent swimmers to the US Open in December 2019, with current Musketeers Jon Bernard, Christian Thomas, Nick Mahoney and Cameron Weese among those who traveled to the event.

at Cincinnati
January 21, 2022
Keating Aquatic Center - Cincinnati, Ohio

Last season, Cincinnati's men finished second at the American Athletic Conference Championships, while the women finished third.
Xavier last faced UC in January 2021, falling to the Bearcats on both the men's and women's side.

vs. Bellarmine
January 22, 2021
Heidt Family Champions Center - Cincinnati, Ohio

In the first season competing in NCAA DI, Bellarmine's men took third at the CCSA Championship in 2021, while the women finished eighth.
Xavier last faced Bellarmine in January 2021, sweeping the Knights on both the men's and women's side with wins in 21 of 28 racing events.

Butler Invite

Fishers High School - Fishers, Ind.

The Musketeers took part in the Butler Invite in January 2021, where the men and women combined to win 18 events.
Xavier's women took the top spot at the meet over Butler, and the men finished second, coming in behind Ball State.

Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center - Oxford, Ohio

The RedHawk men are coming off MAC Championship in 2021, while the women finished third at the conference meet.
Xavier faced Miami in February 2021, with the men and women combining to win five events with both teams falling in the final team score. Kali Fischer and Andrew Martin each collected two individual event wins at the meet.

BIG EAST Swimming and Diving Championships
February 23-26, 2022
Nassau County Aquatic Center - East Meadow, N.Y.

Xavier's men won their third-straight, and sixth overall, conference championship last year, winning 11 of 18 racing events, including three event wins each for Andrew Martin and Christian Thomas. The Musketeers had 17 all-conference performances in individual events.
Xavier's women finished third in the meet, with 11 earning all-conference honors. The Musketeers brought home the event championship in the 200 medley relay.
