Clark, Satterfield Lead Musketeers to Overtime Win at Georgetown

Clark scored a team-high 20 points on 8-for-14 shooting on Friday night
WASHINGTON - Nia Clark and Kae Satterfield led the Xavier women's basketball team to a 70-67 overtime win at Georgetown on Friday night at McDonough Arena.
The win snapped a five-game losing streak for the Musketeers as Xavier improved to 7-11 (2-7 BIG EAST). Georgetown dropped to 6-10 (1-7 BIG EAST).

• Georgetown opened the game on a 9-2 run on 4-for-5 shooting, forcing a Xavier timeout at the 7:11 mark. The Hoyas lead by as many as 14 points, 20-6, with 1:11 left in the first quarter. Xavier closed the frame on a 6-0 run capped by a Shaila Beeler jumper to close within eight points (20-12).
• Xavier hit 66.7 percent (8-for-12) of its shot attempts in the second quarter, outscoring the Hoyas, 18-12 in the frame. The Hoyas led by two points (32-30) at the break.
• Ayanna Townsend paced the offense with 10 points on 5-fo-7 shooting. Aanaya Harris added eight points. Kae Satterfield had a team-high four rebounds.Â
• Georgetown held a 17-12 advantage on the glass and scored six more points off of turnovers (14-8).

• Georgetown opened the stanza on a 6-2 run before the Musketeers responded with seven unanswered points, taking their first lead of the game, 39-38, with 3:36 left in the quarter. The Hoyas ended the frame on an 8-3 run, taking a four-point lead (46-42) into the final quarter.
• Xavier started the final quarter by scoring four straight points (4-for-4 from foul line), tying the game at 46-46 with 8:37 on the clock. Georgetown regained the lead on its next possession and led by as many as five points twice in the frame. Trailing 55-50 with 4:40 left in regulation, Xavier went on a 5-0 run capped by a Nia Clark three pointer to tie the game at 55.
• The Hoyas responded with three straight points from Kelsey Ransom to take a three-point lead (58-55) with 17 seconds left on the clock. Nia Clark hit another three pointer with 15 seconds on the clock to tie the game and send it into overtime.

• The extra stanza had three ties and three lead changes. Tied at 64 with 1:59 on the clock, Xavier went on a 6-3 run to close the game and pull away for the 70-67 victory.
• Xavier went 6-for-6 from the foul line in the overtime period with all six points coming from Kae Satterfield. She scored eight points in overtime, while Nia Clark added four.

• Xavier had four players in double figures for the ninth time this season, paced by Nia Clark's team-high 20 points on 8-for-14 shooting - her third career 20-point performance. She also matched her career high in three pointers made with four.
• Kae Satterfield posted sixth career double-double, scoring 16 points to go along with a game and career-high 15 rebounds. She was also 10-for-10 from the foul line. The New York, N.Y., native added two assists and two steals.
• Aanaya Harris chipped in 14 points, three rebounds, two assists and two steals. Ayanna Townsend rounded out the double-figure scorers with 12 points on 6-for-12 shooting. She added six rebounds, two steals and a block.
• Xavier went 17-for-22 from the foul line in the contest. The Musketeers didn't miss a free throw in the fourth quarter and overtime, going 14-for-14.Â
• Xavier had a season-high 13 steals, the team's sixth game of the year with 10 or more steals. Five different players had two or more steals, paced by Shaila Beeler's three steals.
• Georgetown won the battle on the glass, 47-40, and scored one more point off of turnovers (23-22). The Hoyas also scored two more second-chance points (9-7).
