Xavier travels to face Georgetown and Villanova next weekend

CINCINNATI - Xavier volleyball fell to No. 16 Marquette in a three-set (28-26, 25-22, 25-13) match at Cintas Center on Sunday afternoon. The Musketeers move to 11-7 (4-4 BIG EAST) while the Golden Eagles move to 16-2 on the season (7-1 BIG EAST).

NOTABLES

• MaryAnn O'Toole led the Musketeers with nine kills. She also finished with a pair of blocks and an ace, both matching for team-high.

• Brooklyn Cink had eight kills for the match, and recorded a pair of blocks and assists.

• Carrigan O'Reilly had 27 assists to lead the Musketeers, and finished with seven digs and an ace.

• Alyssa Overbeck had a team-high 13 digs while Lucia Corsaro had 12 for the match.

• Anna Taylor (7), Hunter Fry (6), and Delaney Hogan (5) each had multiple kills, helping Xavier to 37 kills for the match.

• Xavier had 49 digs, 32 assists, eight block assists and three service aces for the match.

• Xavier travels to the east coast for a pair of matches, facing Georgetown on Friday, October 21, set for a 5:00 p.m. start, before heading to Villanova for a Saturday evening match-up.
