Xavier Defeats Georgetown in Five-Set Match

Brooklyn Cink achieved a Xavier career-high of 21 kills in the match
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Xavier took down Georgetown in a 3-2 (28-30, 25-16, 22-25, 25-13, 15-11) victory on Friday night. The Musketeers move to 7-1 when the match goes to five sets. Xavier improves to 12-7 (5-4 BIG EAST) with the win, while Georgetown falls to 4-16 (2-7 BIG EAST).

• Brooklyn Cink led the Musketeers with 21 kills and achieved her Xavier career high. The senior outside hitter also earned her fifth Xavier career double-double in the match with the 21 kills and 12 digs. Cink hit .429 in the match (21-3-42) and posted two block assists and one service ace.
• Carrigan O'Reilly added 58 assists to her career total with the match sending the number to 2,858. The senior setter also earned her 27th career double-double with 58 assists and 17 digs. O'Reilly added an additional nine kills to her stats. The setter hit .500 in the match with nine kills on one error with 19 total attempts.
• Sophomore libero Lucia Corsaro had a standout night with nine assists, three service aces and 22 digs. Â
• Cink was one of four members of the squad to reach double-digit kills. Senior outside hitter Maryann O'Toole reach 18 kills in the match and hit for .310 (18-5-42). Junior middle blocker Hunter Fry and sophomore outside hitter Anna Taylor each tallied up 10 kills.
• Delaney Hogan finished with five total blocks - four block assists and one block solo. The junior middle blocker also hit .421 in the match (8-0-19).
• Cink, O'Reilly, Corsaro and senior defensive specialist Alyssa Overbeck all managed to record double-digit digs. Cink posted 12, O'Reilly tallied up 17, Corsaro led with 22, and Overbeck recorded 13.
• The squad totaled 76 kills, 71 assists, 82 digs, 14 block assists and five service aces.

• Xavier continues road play by heading to Villanova, Pa., to square off with Villanova at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
