CINCINNATI - Xavier women's soccer (11-2-3; 5-0-2 BIG EAST) returns to Corcoran Field on Thursday evening, looking to remain unbeaten BIG EAST in play when the Musketeers take on the Providence Friars. The match is set to begin at 7:00 p.m., on the BEDN on FloSports.

- Providence is 4-9-2 overall and 2-4-1 in BIG EAST play, after falling 1-0 to Georgetown last Sunday.
- Preseason All-BIG EAST selection Meg Hughes has a team-high matching six points on a team-high matching two goals and two assists. Gillian Kenny also has six points on two goals and two assists and Kyla Gallagher's team-high four assist, combined with a goal, brings her season total to six points as well.
- Emma Bodmer has played the bulk of the time in-goal, collecting 39Â saves with 25Â goals against with two shutouts.

- Molly McLaughlin scored her fourth goal of the season in Xavier's 2-0 win over Seton Hall, on a penalty kick, making her 3-3 on PKs for the season and 6-6 for her career. Her three made PKs for the season ties for second most in NCAA DI. McLaughlin's four goals combined with a pair of assists brings her season total to a team-high 10 points with two game-winning goals.
- Emma Flick has eight point on three goals and two assist after picking up a point on the assist to Regan Dancer for the game-winner against Seton Hall.Â
- Regan Dancer scored the game-winning goal in Xavier's 1-0 win over UConn, scoring from Ella Rogers and Grace Blumfeldt in the 25th minute. The goal was Dancer's third match-winning goal of the season, which leads the Musketeers and is tied for a league-best on the year. The freshman now has seven points on three goals and an assist.
- Chloe Netzel's goal against Bowling Green was her third of the season and her second game-winner matching for second-most goals on the team (3) and third-most points (7).
- Natalie Bain picked up five points in the opening weekend of BIG EAST play, scoring the eventual game-winner in the 23rd minute at Butler, scoring the first goal in the 2-1 win over DePaul and then assisting on Emma Marcus' game-winner.
- Rachel Dewey picked up a point on an assist for the third straight match against Villanova, dishing out the helper to Molly McLaughlin. She now has four points on a team-high four assists.
- Brooke Sroka scored Xavier's first goal, an equalizer, in the first half of the Musketeers' 4-1 win over Lipscomb, her second of the season to bring her total to four points. She also scored in Xavier's 4-2 win over Ball State, knocking in an insurance goal in the final minute of the game.
- Simone Rivard-Roberts also has two goals on the season, both game-winners. Rivard-Roberts scored her first goal as a Musketeer in the season opener against Western Kentucky, in her first appearance after dealing with injuries in her first two seasons at Xavier.Â
- Avery Lockwood picked up her second assist of the season on Chloe Netzel's game-winner against Loyola, bringing her season total to four points. Lockwood, a transfer from Indiana, scored the equalizer in the eventual 2-1 win over Louisville, and picked up an assist on Regan Dancer's game-winner at Ball State.Â
- Ella Rogers picked up a second assist on the season on Regan Dancer's game-winner against UConn, bringing her season total to four points. She also scored in the first 10 minutes of the Saint Louis match, her first goal of the season.
- Emma Marcus became the 10th Musketeer to score in 2022, notching the game-winner in Xavier's 2-1 win over DePaul shortly after halftime.
- Grace Blumfeldt picked up an assist on Regan Dancer's goal against UConn, her second assist of the season. Elise Le also has a point on an assist.
- Freshman Maria Galley has made all 16 starts in-goal, collecting 43 saves, with a .811 save percentage, with 10 goals against for a GAA of 0.63. Her record stands at 11-2-3 with 10 shutouts, the most in the BIG EAST and second most in NCAA DI. Galley's 10 shutouts are tied for the second-most in a single season in Xavier's individual records, matching Olivia Jenkin's 10-shutout season in 2021.Â
- Natalie Bain has played over 1,400 minutes on the Xavier backline in 16 starts so far in her freshman season. Maddie Reed has made 15 starts at center back while Grace Haggerty started the BSU game. Molly McLaughlin and Ella Rogers have started each match in the midfield, while Olivia Lawson, Elise Le and Rachel Dewey rotate in the starting outside back positions.Â
- The Xavier defense has 10 shutouts on the season, including five clean sheets in a row entering the Providence match, not allowing a goal in over 525 minutes of action dating back to the first half of the DePaul match.
- Nationally, Xavier is receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Poll. The Musketeers are also in the top 30 of the RPI (30) and Top Drawer Soccer poll (24).Â

- Xavier women's soccer remained unbeaten in BIG EAST and extended its shutout streak to five matches after playing St. John's to a 0-0 draw at Belson Stadium on Sunday afternoon.Â
- Xavier held an early advantage on offense, taking a 6-2 advantage on shots into the final minute of the first half, with three shots each coming from Molly McLaughlin and Ella Rogers. In the final minutes of the half, St. John's created a flurry of chances following a corner kick, including a look on-frame, but Maria Galley's third save of the half sent the game to the break in a scoreless draw. Xavier held the 6-4 advantage on shots, but the Red Storm took a 3-2 advantage on shots on-goal into the break.
- The defensive pressure for both teams turned up in the second half, with each team only allowing one shot in the final 45 minutes. The Musketeers earned a 3-0 advantage on corner kicks and had the only look on-frame after the half, but neither team found the back of the net to finish the match in a 0-0 draw. The shutout is the fifth-straight for the Musketeers.
- Natalie Bain, Maddie Reed, Rachel Dewey and Molly McLaughlin all played the full 90 minutes for the Xavier defense, helping Xavier to a fifth-straight shutout. The Musketeers now have 10 for the season, tying the 2021 season for the third-most team shutouts in a season in Xavier record books.

- After helping Xavier remain unbeaten in BIG EAST play with a fifth-straight shutout, junior defender Maddie Reed earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the league office announced on Monday.
- Reed, originally from Louisville, Ky., played the full 90 minutes for the Xavier defense in the Musketeers' 0-0 draw at St. John's on Sunday, helping limit the Red Storm to just five shots overall and three on-goal.
- The shutout was the Musketeers' 10th of the season, tying the 2021 season for the third-most team shutouts in a season in Xavier records. The Musketeer defense hasn't allowed a goal in the last 525 minutes of action, going back to the first half of the DePaul match.

- Women's soccer graduate student Molly McLaughlin was among the 61 NCAA Women's Division I college soccer players named to the 2022 Hermann Trophy Watch List by United Soccer Coaches.
- McLaughlin, a midfielder from Granger, Ind., is coming off her third all-conference season as a Musketeer, earning a spot on the 2021 All-BIG EAST First Team and the USC All-East Region First Team, as well BIG EAST All-Tournament Team honors. She was voted to the 2022 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team by the league's coaches.
- Last season, McLaughlin totaled 1,664 minutes in the midfield for the Musketeers, helping Xavier to a school-record 16 regular season wins and 10 shutouts. McLaughlin finished with three goals on the season, a pair coming in BIG EAST play, with one game-winner, against Marquette.Â
- The Hermann Trophy, presented annually by the Missouri Athletic Club, is the nation's highest individual honor recognizing the National Player of the Year as determined by the voting of Division I coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches.

- The Musketeers finished the 2021 season at 16-3-1 overall, setting a new school record for regular season wins (16). The Musketeers went undefeated in the non-conference portion of the home schedule, winning seven straight matches to open the season and playing Bowling Green to a draw to move into conference play at 7-0-1.
- Xavier went 9-1 in conference play, winning program's second BIG EAST Regular Season Championship and earning the opportunity to host the league Semifinals and Finals at Corcoran Field.
- The Musketeers earned a program-best ranking in both the United Soccer Coaches Poll (No. 11) and the RPI (No. 7) last season.
- Last season, Xavier earned the program's first at-large bid and home match in the NCAA Tournament.

- The Musketeers return 23 letter-winners from last fall, including All-BIG EAST First Team honoree Molly McLaughlin, BIG EAST Freshman of the Year Ella Rogers, and All-Freshmen Team members Chloe Netzel and Shelby Sallee.
- Xavier's returners account for over 80 percent of Xavier's goals last season, including Xavier's top six goal scorers in Netzel (6), Emma Marcus (4), Sallee (4), Rogers (4), McLaughlin (3) and Mathilde Rasmussen (3).
- Netzel led the Musketeers last season with 14 points total, Marcus and Salle each added 11 for the Musketeers.
- The Musketeers adds 13 newcomers, including four transfers and a nine-person freshman class.

- The Bluejays are 8-2-5 overall and 4-2-1 in BIG EAST play, sitting in fourth place in the BIG EAST standings headed into a Thursday match-up with DePaul.
- Hanna Luke leads CU with nine points on three goals and three assists, with both totals matching for team high. Four other Bluejays have three goals on the season.
