Musketeers take on the Big Red at 1:00 PM in Granville, Ohio
CINCINNATI - Xavier men's and women's swimming will be back in action this weekend, traveling to Granville, Ohio, to face Denison on Saturday, October 29, set for a 1:00 p.m. start.

- Denison opened the season at the Akron Zips Classic, with the men finishing second and the women placing third.
- The Denison men won the program's 13th NCAC Championship in 2022, followed by a third-place finish at the NCAA DIII Championships.
- Denison's women are coming off a season where the Big Red finished second at the CAC Championships, followed by a third-place finish at the NCAA DIII Championships.
- Xavier's men and women collected 13 first place finishes at last season's dual, but split with the Big Red.
- Xavier's women had eight first place finishes on the way to a 137.5-123.5 win.
- Andrew Martin had a pair of event wins, Christian Thomas and Ben Quon each won a race, and the Xavier men closed out the meet with a win in the 200 free relay, but fell by a score of 158-103.

- Senior Andrew Martin picked up the first BIG EAST Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week honor for the 2022-23 season after setting league-best times in three individual events for the first month of the season.
- In the season opener, Martin helped Xavier to a team win, collecting a pair of individual event wins, taking first in the 1000 free (9:35.77), and the 500 free (4:37.76). He also helped Xavier win the 400 free relay.
- Against Louisville, Martin set a time of 1:41.13 in the 200 free to lead Xavier and also led the Musketeers in the 500 free with a BIG EAST-best time of 4:32.69, scoring in second place.
- At the Akron Zips Classic, Martin collected three event wins, winning the 200 free with a time of 1:40.89, the current league best time in the event. He also took first in the 500 free with a time for 4:33.45, and also collected a first-place finish in the 1,650 free, setting a time of 15:52.54, the current top time in the BIG EAST. Martin also led Xavier in the 50 free, placing second with a time of 21.15.
- Martin also helped the Musketeers to league-best times in the 400 free relay, 800 free relay and 400 medley relay, all at the Akron Zips Classic.Â
- Martin leads the BIG EAST in total point contributions (719.15), nearly 40 points ahead of the next closest competitor.
- Women's swimming's Kali Fischer was also named a notable performer by the BIG EAST, after recording a BIG EAST season-best time in the 200 free (1:52.43), winning the event at the Akron Zips Classic. Backed by strong relay performances, Fisher leads BIG EAST women in total points (685.70).

- Xavier's men last took part in outside competition at the Akron Zips Classic, where the Musketeers finished in third, collecting 926.5 points.
- Jon Bernard, Ethan Saunders, Aiden Leamer and Andrew Martin set a time of 3:23.51 in the 400 medley relay to place second in the opening race for the men.
- Andrew Martin won the first individual event of the meet on the men's side, winning the 500 free with a time for 4:33.45. Martin also led Xavier in the 50 free, placing second with a time of 21.15.
- Jon Bernard's time of 1:54.27 in the 200 IM led Xavier and placed third.
- Xavier's men closed out the first session with a third-place finish in the 800 free relay, with Jon Bernard, Kyle Hudson, Andrew Martin and Nathan Wall setting a time of 6:54.96.
- Xavier sits in third place with 269.5 points with two sessions remaining.
- Andrew Martin, Ethan Saunders, Gage Hannewyk and Ethan Wing set a time of 1:24.68 in the 200 free relay to place second.
- Nathan Wall's time of 3:56.46 led the Musketeers in the 400 IM.
- Aiden Leamer took third in the both the 100 fly, with a time of 50.27, and in the 200 fly, wiht a time of 1:52.10.
- Andrew Martin won the 200 free with a time of 1:40.89, and also collected a first-place finish in the 1,650 free, setting a time of 15:52.54.
- Jon Bernard picked up a second-place finish in the 200 breast with a time of 2:04.25. He also collected a pair of third place finishes, in the 100 breast with a time of 57.17, and the 200 back, with a time of 1:51.79. Bernard also led Xavier int he 100 back with a time of 51.57.
- To open the final session, Jon Bernard, Ethan Saunders, Aiden Leamer and Andrew Martin finished third in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:32.95..
- Kyle Hudson led the Musketeers in the 100 free with a time of 46.76.
- Kyle Hudson, Ethan Wing, Ethan Saunders and Andrew Martin closed out the meet with a win in the 400 free relay, setting a time of 3:03.87.

- Xavier's were last in action at the Akron Zips Classic where the Musketeer women finished in fifth, collecting 268.5 points.
- To open the meet, Kali Fischer, Kate Lair, Hannah Pugh and Olivia Oyster set a time of 3:54.61 in the 400 medley relay to lead the Musketeers in the event.
- Sydney Smith led Xavier in the 500 free with a time of 5:14.57.
- Kali Fischer picked up a fourth place finish in the 200 IM with a time of 2:05.50.
- Olivia Oyster set the top time for a Musketeer in the 50 free, finishing in 23.93.
- Charlie Ramey, Clara Keiser, Kali Fischer and Alexis Worrall set a time of 7:47.50 in the 800 free relay to lead Xavier in the final event of the first session.
- On day two, the squad of Olivia Oyster, Molly Dynda, Kali Fischer and Clare Bosse opened the morning session with a time of 1:36.50 in the 200 free relay.
- Kate Lair led the Musketeers in the 400 IM with a time of 4:39.84. She also led Xavier in the 100 breast with a time of 1:06.86 and the 200 breast with a time of 2:30.16.
- Erin Ritz set a time of 57.98 in the 100 fly to lead all Xavier swimmers. She also led Xavier in the 200 fly with a time of 2:10.12.
- Kali Fischer won the 200 free with a time of 1:52.43. She also led Xavier in the 200 back with a time of 2:03.68.
- Hannah Pugh set the top time for a Musketeer in the 100 back, finishing in 58.72.
- Kali Fischer, Molly Dynda, Erin Ritz and Olivia Oyster opened the afternoon session with a time of 1:45.96 in the 200 medley relay.
- Sydney Smith led Xavier in the mile with a time of 17:46.98.
- Olivia Oyster led the Musketeers in the 100 free with a time of 53.03.
- Kali Fischer, Olivia Oyster, Clare Bosse and Amy Van Son closed out the meet with a time of 3:31.61 in the 400 free relay.

 UPCOMING SCHEDULE |
- Xavier will next be in action at the CSU Magnus Cup, running November 17-19 at the Busbey Natatorium in Cleveland, Ohio.
- Prelims will begin at 9:00 AM each day and the finals will start at 5:00 PM.
- Last season's Magnus Cup included Akron, Ohio, Duquesne, Bowling Green, Indiana University of Pa., Gannon, Case Western, California University of Pa., Fairmont State and West Virginia Tech, in addition to CSU and Xavier.
- Xavier's women finished fourth in the field of 11 last season.
- Xavier's men finished second of seven teams, trailing only Cleveland State.

 XAVIER MEN |
- The Musketeer men are coming off a second-place finish at last season's BIG EAST Swimming and Diving Championships. Xavier collected six event championships and had 10 Musketeers earn all-conference last season.
- Nine of the 10 All-BIG EAST honorees return for the 2022-23 season. Andrew Martin earned the honor in six events and Ethan Saunders earned the honor in five events.
- Jon Bernard, Gage Hannewyk, Joey Mullen, Jack Parker, Will Serad, Nathan Wall and Ethan Wing all earned All-BIG EAST last season.
- The Musketeers added three transfers, T'Lez Foulkes from Howard, Seth Kibler from Florida Institute of Technology and Aiden Neuman from Penn State.
- Xavier also added a five person class of newcomers, Matthew Adanin, Ben Dupree, Kyle Hudson, Aiden Leamer and Jonathan Mason.

- The Musketeer women return nine All-Conference performers from last season's third-place finishing team at the BIG EAST meet.
- Among the returners is Kali Fischer who earned All-BIG EAST in five events. Alexis Worrall and Clara Keiser also earned all-conference in multiple events.
- Molly Dynda, Erin Merke, Erin Ritz, Emma Swabb and Reese Turner all earned All-BIG EAST last season as well
- Xavier's women added four to the roster for the season, transfer Charlie Ramey who joins Xavier from Vermont, and freshmen Emma Amon, Olivia Oyster and Sydney Smith.
