Musketeers Sweep Pirates on the Road

Xavier extends the win streak to four with the sweep
SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. - Xavier volleyball posted a three-set sweep (25-18, 25-15, 25-18) at Seton Hall on Saturday night.
With the win, Xavier improved to 15-7 (8-4 BIG EAST) while Seton Hall dropped to 13-11 (4-8 BIG EAST). The pair will see each other once more in the regular season on Nov. 11 in Cintas Center. The Musketeers improve to 13-4 in the all-time series with the Pirates.
For the first time since 2014, Xavier has won four consecutive road games to push the team into third place in the BIG EAST standings.
• Senior outside hitter Brooklyn Cink led the Musketeers with 10 kills in the match and was the only member of the squad to reach double-digits.
• Graduate middle blocker Angel Robinson posted the team high hitting percentage of .562 with nine kills and no errors on 16 attempts.
• Carrigan O'Reilly posted 35 assists in the three-set match sending her career total to 2,976. The senior setter also recorded four kills and seven digs.
• Freshman outside hitter Caroline Speelman recorded her first career kill in the match and hit for .500 (2-0-4).
• Robinson and junior middle blocker Delaney Hogan both averaged hitting percentages above .500 in the match. Hogan hit for .500 (8-1-14) while Robinson hit for .562 (9-0-16). The squad averaged a hitting percentage of .455 in the first set of the match as well.
• Senior outside hitter Maryann O'Toole was the only member of both squads to post a block solo. O'Reilly, Robinson, Hogan, and Cink each tallied one block assist for the Musketeers.
• Senior defensive specialist Alyssa Overbeck and junior defensive specialist Stevie Wolf were the only members of the squad to hit double-digit digs. Wolf had the team high with 13 while Overbeck followed close behind with 10.
• Sophomore libero Lucia Corsaro managed two five plus point scoring runs in the first and third sets early to give the Musketeers a solid lead.
• Four members of the squad managed a service ace on the Pirates with Corsaro leading with three and Cink, Wolf, and O'Reilly all posting one.
• Xavier will return home for to begin a four-match home stand when they host UConn and Providence the first weekend of November.
