Carrigan O'Reilly reaches 3,000 career assists and Brooklyn Cink reaches 1,000 career kills

CINCINNATI - Xavier volleyball fell to UConn in a four-set (18-25, 20-25, 25-21, 18-25) match on Friday night. The Musketeers fall to 15-8 (8-5 BIG EAST) while the Huskies improve to 14-10 (8-5 BIG EAST).

In set one, Brooklyn Cink reached 1,000 career kills. The senior outside hitter earned 723 kills during her time at Missouri State and now leads the Musketeers with 289 on the season.

In set three, Carrigan O'Reilly reached 3,000 career assists. The senior setter currently ranks seventh in the Xavier volleyball record books with 3,014 assists.

NOTABLES

• Brooklyn Cink led the squad in kills with a total of 17 and in hitting percentage with .361.

• Carrigan O'Reilly added an additional 38 assists to bring her career total to 3,014. The senior setter also managed one block assist, three kills, and three digs.

• Four members of the squad put up service aces against the Huskies. Cink led with three, freshman Caroline Speelman managed two - that were the outside hitter's first in her career, and both O'Reilly and graduate middle blocker Angel Robinson tallied one.

• Junior libero Stevie Wolf posted the team high in digs with 16 total.

• Delaney Hogan posted the only block solo for the Musketeers and four block assists. The junior middle blocker also recorded nine kills.

• Robinson and Cink each added three block assists to their stats in the match.
