Junior forward scores equalizer in Marquette match to keep Musketeers unbeaten in BIG EAST play
NEW YORK - After scoring her first goal of the season to help keep the Musketeers unbeaten in conference play, junior forward Grace Blumfeldt was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the league office announced on Monday.
Blumfeldt, originally from North Ridgeville, Ohio, scored the equalizer just before halftime in Xavier's 1-1 draw at Marquette, helping Xavier wrap up the BIG EAST regular season unbeaten at 6-0-4. The goal was her first goal of the season and second as a Musketeer. Combined with a pair of assists, she now has four points on the season.
Xavier, the No. 2 seed in the BIG EAST Championship, is next in action in the tournament's semifinals, taking on No. 3 seed St. John's on Thursday, November 3 at 4:00 p.m. at the Maryland SoccerPlex in Boyds, Md.
