Musketeers back in action tomorrow at 10 AM for second of three sessions

AKRON, Ohio – Xavier men's and women's swimming opened up the Akron Zips Classic on Friday evening, competing in the first of three sessions with both teams competing against Denison and Youngstown State, as well as Bowling Green and the host Zips on the women's side. The Musketeers took part in five races on both the men's and women's side. There was also a diving competition in which Xavier did not compete.

Xavier will be back in action tomorrow with two mores sessions, with the morning session starting at 10:00 a.m., with the final session set for 5:00 p.m.

WOMEN'S NOTABLE

To open the meet, Kali Fischer, Kate Lair, Hannah Pugh and Olivia Oyster set a time of 3:54.61 in the 400 medley relay to lead the Musketeers in the event.
Sydney Smith led Xavier in the 500 free with a time of 5:14.57.
Kali Fischer picked up a fourth place finish in the 200 IM with a time of 2:05.50.
Olivia Oyster set the top time for a Musketeer in the 50 free, finishing in 23.93.
Charlie Ramey, Clara Keiser, Kali Fischer and Alexis Worrall set a time of 7:47.50 in the 800 free relay to lead Xavier in the final event of the first session.
The Musketeers have 65 points after the first of three sessions, sitting in fifth place.

MEN'S NOTABLE

Jon Bernard, Ethan Saunders, Aiden Leamer and Andrew Martin set a time of 3:23.51 in the 400 medley relay to place second in the opening race for the men.
Andrew Martin won the first individual event of the meet on the men's side, winning the 500 free with a time for 4:33.45. Martin also led Xavier in the 50 free, placing second with a time of 21.15.
Jon Bernard's time of 1:54.27 in the 200 IM led Xavier and placed third.
Xavier's men closed out the first session with a third-place finish in the 800 free relay, with Jon Bernard, Kyle Hudson, Andrew Martin and Nathan Wall setting a time of 6:54.96.
Xavier sits in third place with 269.5 points with two sessions remaining.
