Musketeers fall to Huskies on their home court

STORRS, Conn. - Xavier volleyball dropped a four-set match (19-25, 27-25, 21-25, 17-25) at UConn on Saturday night. Xavier fell to 10-6 (3-3 BIG EAST), while UConn improved to 7-10 (1-5 BIG EAST).

NOTABLES

• Brooklyn Cink and Delaney Hogan led the Musketeers with 10 kills apiece and were the only members of the squad to hit double digits. Cink, the senior outside hitter recorded two block assists in the match while Hogan, the junior middle blocker, managed a block solo and three block assists.

• Senior setter Carrigan O'Reilly added 37 assists to her career total with the match sending the number to 2,726.

• Cink and O'Reilly both recorded double-doubles against the Huskies. Cink managed 10 kills and 13 digs for her fourth Xavier career double-double, while O'Reilly recorded 37 assists and 10 digs for her 25th career double-double.

• Five members of the squad recorded a service ace against the Huskies. O'Reilly, Cink, junior defensive specialist Stevie Wolf, senior defensive specialist Alyssa Overbeck, and sophomore libero Lucia Corsaro.

• Five members of the squad hit double digits in digs in the four-set match. The leader was Cink with 13 digs. Wold and Corsaro both tallied up 12 digs each and Overbeck tossed up 11 digs with O'Reilly following up the pack with 10.

• Graduate middle blocker Angel Robinson and Hogan led the team with three block assists and a block solo apiece.

• Hogan hit for .333 in the match with 10 kills on 27 attempts with just one attack error (5 TA min).
