- The Huskies, who were picked sixth in the BIG EAST preseason poll, enter the match at 6-4-1 overall and 2-2 in BIG EAST play, coming off a bye on Thursday.
- UConn has picked up 2-1 wins over both Creighton and Marquette, and fell 1-0 to both St. John's and Georgetown.
- Jada Konte has 11 points on four goals and thee assists to lead the Huskies. Abbey Jones has 10 points on three goals and a team-high four assists.
- Maddie Carroll also has three goals and eight other Huskies have tallied at least once.
- Four Huskies goalkeepers have played at least a half with Kaitlyn Mahoney and Adyson Duran playing the bulk of the time. Mahoney has made seven starts, collecting 23 saves with six goals against and has a record of 4-2-1. Duran has made three starts, collecting 14 saves with three goals against, with a record of 1-2-0.
- Xavier is 1-0 all-time against the Huskies, with the first match-up coming last season.
- In the 2021 match, Xavier took the 1-0 win in Storrs, Conn., getting the game-winning goal from Sonia Vargas in the first 10 minutes. The match clinched the BIG EAST regular season title for the Musketeers.

- Molly McLaughlin scored her fourth goal of the season in Xavier's 2-0 win over Seton Hall, on a penalty kick, making her 3-3 on PKs for the season and 6-6 for her career. Her three made PKs for the season ties for second most in NCAA DI.
- McLaughlin's four goals combined with a pair of assists brings her season total to a team-high 10 points with two game-winning goals.
- Emma Flick has eight point on three goals and two assist after picking up a point on the assist to Regan Dancer for the game-winner against Seton Hall.Â
- Chloe Netzel's goal against Bowling Green was her third of the season and her second game-winner matching for second-most goals on the team (3) and third-most points (7).
- Regan Dancer scored her second goal of the season, both game-winners, in the match against Seton Hall. She has five points on two goals and an assist.
- Natalie Bain picked up five points in the opening weekend of BIG EAST play, scoring the eventual game-winner in the 23rd minute at Butler, scoring the first goal in the 2-1 win over DePaul and then assisting on Emma Marcus' game-winner.
- Rachel Dewey picked up a point on an assist for the third straight match after dishing out the helper to Molly McLaughlin against Villanova. She now has four points on a team-high four assists.
- Brooke Sroka scored Xavier's first goal, an equalizer, in the first half of the Musketeers' 4-1 win over Lipscomb, her second of the season to bring her total to four points. She also scored in Xavier's 4-2 win over Ball State, knocking in an insurance goal in the final minute of the game.
- Simone Rivard-Roberts also has two goals on the season, both game-winners. Rivard-Roberts scored her first goal as a Musketeer in the season opener against Western Kentucky, in her first appearance after dealing with injuries in her first two seasons at Xavier.Â
- Avery Lockwood picked up her second assist of the season on Chloe Netzel's game-winner against Loyola, bringing her season total to four points. Lockwood, a transfer from Indiana, scored the equalizer in the eventual 2-1 win over Louisville, and picked up an assist on Regan Dancer's game-winner at Ball State.Â
- Ella Rogers picked up an assist on Chloe Netzel's goal against Lipscomb to bring her season total to three points. She also scored in the first 10 minutes of the Saint Louis match, her first goal of the season.
- Emma Marcus became the 10th Musketeer to score in 2022, notching the game-winner in Xavier's 2-1 win over DePaul shortly after halftime.
- Elise Le and Grace Blumfeldt each have a point on an assist.
- Freshman Maria Galley has made all 14 starts in-goal, collecting 35 saves, with a .778 save percentage, with 10 goals against for a GAA of 0.71. Her record stands at 10-2-2 with eight shutouts.
- Natalie Bain has played over 1,200 minutes on the Xavier backline in 14 starts so far in her freshman season. Maddie Reed has made 13 starts at center back while Grace Haggerty started the BSU game. Molly McLaughlin and Ella Rogers have started each match in the midfield, while Olivia Lawson, Elise Le and Rachey Dewey rotate in the starting outside back positions.
- Nationally, Xavier remained in the "Receiving Votes" category of the USC national poll this week.

- Xavier women's soccer extended its unbeaten streak to seven and remained in a tie at the top of the BIG EAST standings on Thursday after playing No. 18 Georgetown to a 0-0 draw in Washington, D.C.
- In a scoreless first half, the Musketeers held the 7-3 advantage on overall shots going into the break, but the Hoyas had a 3-1 advantage on shots on-frame. Ella Rogers and Emma Flick each had a pair of shots to lead Xavier, while Maria Galley collected two saves to keep GU scoreless in the first 45 minutes.
- In the second half, the Musketeers continued to hold the advantage on offense, out-shooting the Hoyas 8-3 overall and 3-1 on shots on-frame but were unable to find the back of the net, setting the final score at 0-0 after 90 minutes of action. Sonia Vargas and Chloe Netzel had a pair of shots in the second half to lead Xavier, and Emma Flick added another, a look that went off the crossbar, to finish with three shots for the day.Â
- Xavier's defense picked up its eighth shutout of the season, marking only the second time this season the Hoyas have been held scoreless. The other time was in the Hoya's 1-0 loss to Virginia on August 25.
- The Musketeers limited the Hoyas to just six shots overall, the second fewest for Georgetown this season, and four shots on goal.
- Maria Galley made three saves in-goal to pick up the eighth shutout of her freshman season.
- Rachel Dewey and Maddie Reed played the full 90 minutes, while Natalie Bain, Ella Rogers and Molly McLaughlin all played over 75 minutes.
- XU finished with a 15-6 advantage on shots and each team had four looks on-frame. Chloe Netzel and Emma Flick each had three to lead Xavier.
- Xavier's 15Â shots were the most the Georgetown defense has allowed this season. The previous opponent high was 13 shots, by West Virginia.
- The Musketeers finished with a 6-3 advantage on corner kicks.
- The draw with the Hoyas marks the Musketeers' first result against Georgetown at Shaw Field.

- After picking up a pair of shutout wins last week to move to 4-0 in BIG EAST play, a pair of Musketeers, Molly McLaughlin and Regan Dancer, were honored by the BIG EAST Conference. McLaughlin, a midfielder, was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week while Dancer, a forward, was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, the league office announced on Monday.
- McLaughlin, a graduate student from Granger, Ind., led Xavier last week with four points on two goals. Against Villanova, McLaughlin used a header to finish a Rachel Dewey free kick, shooting to the lower right corner for the game-winner in Xavier's 1-0 win. Against Seton Hall, McLaughlin scored her team-high fourth goal of the season on a second-half penalty kick, putting Xavier ahead 2-0. She's 3-3 on PKs for the season and 6-6 for her Xavier career, and has a team-high 10 points on four goals and two assists. McLaughlin also earned a spot on the National Teams of the Week from NCAA Soccer, Top Drawer Soccer and College Soccer News.
- Dancer, who is originally from South Lyon, Mich., scored the game-winner in Xavier's 2-0 win over Seton Hall, tapping in a cross from Emma Flick in the first half. The freshman forward had four total shots (two on goal) in the match against the Pirates and had a .500 shot on goal percentage. This was Dancer's second game-winning goal of the season with the first coming on Aug. 28 at Ball State. She now has five points on two goals and an assist.

- Women's soccer graduate student Molly McLaughlin was among the 61 NCAA Women's Division I college soccer players named to the 2022 Hermann Trophy Watch List by United Soccer Coaches.
- McLaughlin, a midfielder from Granger, Ind., is coming off her third all-conference season as a Musketeer, earning a spot on the 2021 All-BIG EAST First Team and the USC All-East Region First Team, as well BIG EAST All-Tournament Team honors. She was voted to the 2022 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team by the league's coaches.
- Last season, McLaughlin totaled 1,664 minutes in the midfield for the Musketeers, helping Xavier to a school-record 16 regular season wins and 10 shutouts. McLaughlin finished with three goals on the season, a pair coming in BIG EAST play, with one game-winner, against Marquette.Â
- The Hermann Trophy, presented annually by the Missouri Athletic Club, is the nation's highest individual honor recognizing the National Player of the Year as determined by the voting of Division I coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches.

 2021 SEASON |
- The Musketeers finished the 2021 season at 16-3-1 overall, setting a new school record for regular season wins (16). The Musketeers went undefeated in the non-conference portion of the home schedule, winning seven straight matches to open the season and playing Bowling Green to a draw to move into conference play at 7-0-1.
- Xavier went 9-1 in conference play, winning program's second BIG EAST Regular Season Championship and earning the opportunity to host the league Semifinals and Finals at Corcoran Field.
- The Musketeers earned a program-best ranking in both the United Soccer Coaches Poll (No. 11) and the RPI (No. 7) last season.
- Last season, Xavier earned the program's first at-large bid and home match in the NCAA Tournament.

- The Musketeers return 23 letter-winners from last fall, including All-BIG EAST First Team honoree Molly McLaughlin, BIG EAST Freshman of the Year Ella Rogers, and All-Freshmen Team members Chloe Netzel and Shelby Sallee.
- Xavier's returners account for over 80 percent of Xavier's goals last season, including Xavier's top six goal scorers in Netzel (6), Emma Marcus (4), Sallee (4), Rogers (4), McLaughlin (3) and Mathilde Rasmussen (3).
- Netzel led the Musketeers last season with 14 points total, Marcus and Salle each added 11 for the Musketeers.
- The Musketeers adds 13 newcomers, including four transfers and a nine-person freshman class.
- Xavier enters the season ranked No. 24 in the United Soccer Coaches Preseason poll after finishing last season at No. 19, and also open up the 2022 season ranked No. 21 by Top Drawer Soccer.
- Xavier was selected to finish second in the BIG EAST Coaches poll, collecting a pair of first place votes.
- All-conference honorees Molly McLaughlin and Ella Rogers were named Preseason All-BIG EAST by the league coaches.Â

- The Musketeers have a mid-week bye before heading to Queens, N.Y., to face St. John's on Sunday, Oct. 16, set for a 1:00 p.m start on the BEDN.
- The Red Storm are 5-4-4 overall and 2-2-1 in BIG EAST play. The Red Storm are coming off a 1-1 draw against Creighton. The Red Storm has 1-0 wins over UConn and Seton Hall, and 1-0 losses to Georgetown and Villanova.
- The Red Storm were picked fifth in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll following last season's 13-7-3 finish where SJU advanced to the BIG EAST Championship match and earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, advancing to the Sweet 16.
- SJU returned midfielder Jessica Garziano from last season's NCAA Tournament squad, a Preseason All-BIG EAST selection that leads the Red Storm in points (8) and assist (4) and matches for team-high in goals (2). Four other Johnnies have two goals on the season.
- Gina Muzi has made 13 starts in-goal for St. John's, collecting 33 saves with 10 goals against, with five shutouts.
- Xavier is 2-7 against the Red Storm all-time, having one back-to-back match-ups before falling 1-0 in last season's BIG EAST Semifinals.
- During last season's regular season match-up, the Musketeers took the 1-0 win in Cincinnati on a goal from Ella Rogers.
- The Red Storm won the rematch in the post-season, also played at Corcoran Field, taking a 1-0 win on a goal from BIG EAST Offense Player of the Year Zsani Kajan.
