Fernanda Ovalle Named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week

NEW YORK - Fernanda Ovalle was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Monday afternoon. The Musketeers have now had two players earn BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors this season.
The freshman guard posted her first career double-double last week, leading the Musketeers to a 65-49 win over Old Dominion on Nov. 22 at Cintas Center.
The Santiago, Chile, native finished with a season-high 14 points on 7-for-8 shooting. She added a season-high 12 rebounds to go along with three assists and two blocks.
Ovalle and the Musketeers return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 22 vs McNeese State. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. ET from Cintas Center.
