Noel, Musketeers Close Non-Conference Play with Win Over Red Flash

CINCINNATI - Mariyah Noel posted her third double-double of the season on Sunday afternoon, scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds to lead the Musketeers to a 63-51 win over Saint Francis.
Xavier improves to 8-3 on the the year, while the Red Flash drop to 0-9.
The Musketeers return to BIG EAST action on Friday, Dec. 19 at Butler. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m. from Hinkle Fieldhouse with the game being aired on ESPN+ and The Varsity Network.

- Xavier never trailed in the game and led by as many as 29 points (55-26) with 8:49 left in regulation.
- Mariyah Noel posted her third career double-double, scoring a team-high 16 points and pulling down a team-high 10 rebounds. The guard added two assists.
- Meri Kanerva finished with 12 points on 5-for-8 shooting. She added four assists, two rebounds and one steal.
- Vivien Nejašmić had nine points, four assists and two rebounds in 23 minutes of action off the bench.
- Petra Oborilova finished with eight points, four rebounds and three assists. Savannah White had six points, seven rebounds and three assists.
- MacKenzie Givens had eight points, three rebounds, two blocks and one steal.
- Xavier finished with a .391 field-goal percentage (25-for-64) and went 6-for-21 from behind the arc. The Musketeers were also 7-for-10 from the foul line.
- Saint Francis scored one more point off of turnovers (15-14) than Xavier and had three more bench points (16-13). The Red Flash also won the battle on the glass, 35-34.
- The Musketeers scored 10 more second-chance points (18-8) than Saint Francis and scored two more fastbreak points (6-4). Xavier also scored 14 more points in the paint (32-18).
- Saint Francis posted a .385 field-goal percentage (20-for-52) and went 7-for-21 from behind the arc. The Red Flash were also 4-for-4 from the foul line.
- Aleah James scored a game-high 22 points on 10-for-16 shooting. Bati Assefa pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds.
- Xavier moves to 4-0 all-time vs the Red Flash.
- Xavier has now won four straight games for the first time since the 2022-23 season and matched its most wins before Christmas sine the 2018-19 season.
