Musketeers Sweep Friars in Sunday Matinee

Xavier downs Providence 3-0 at home
CINCINNATI - Xavier volleyball swept Providence 3-0 (27-25, 26-24, 25-12). The Musketeers improve to 16-8 (9-5 BIG EAST) while the Friars fall to 11-13 (3-9 BIG EAST).
• Brooklyn Cink led the squad in kills with a total of 14 and managed no attack errors in the 38 attempts. The senior posted a hitting percentage of .368. The outside hitter also managed a double-double, the seventh of her Xavier career, with the 14 kills and 11 digs.
• Carrigan O'Reilly added an additional 31 assists to bring her career total to 3,045. The senior setter also managed two block assists, two service aces, six kills, and four digs. O'Reilly hit for .500 in the match with six kills and no errors on 12 total attempts.
• Four members of the squad put up service aces against the Friars. Cink, O'Reilly, and senior defensive specialist Alyssa Overbeck each managed two while junior defensive specialist Stevie Wolf posted one.
• Wolf posted the team high in digs with 16 total while Overbeck followed close behind with 14.
• Delaney Hogan posted five block assists in the match for the team high. The junior middle blocker also hit for .409 in three-set victory with 12-3-22.
• Hogan led with five block assists while Cink managed three. O'Reilly followed up with her two while graduate middle block Angel Robinson and sophomore outside hitter Anna Taylor each tallied one.
• Robinson was the only member of the squad to manage a block solo against Providence.
• Xavier will host Seton Hall and St. John's this upcoming weekend.
