Women's Soccer Finishes Runners-Up in BIG EAST Championship

Emma Flick, Molly McLaughlin and Chloe Netzel earn All-Tournament Team honors
BOYDS, Md. - Xavier women's soccer's finished runners-up in the BIG EAST Championship, falling to No. 18 Georgetown, 1-0, in the Championship match at the Maryland SoccerPlex on Sunday afternoon. Xavier moved to 13-3-5 on the season.
The Musketeers and the Hoyas were scoreless in the first half, with Georgetown holding a 5-3 lead on shots and a 7-0 advantage on corners in the first 45 minutes. Xavier's offense put pressure on the Hoya defense out of the break, getting the first two shots of the half, and taking the first corner kick, but GU found the back of the net with its first shot, taking a 1-0 lead in the 59th minute.
Xavier continued to challenge the Hoya defense, looking for the equalizer, holding a 5-1 advantage on shots after the break and a 2-1 advantage on corners, but were unable to score, setting the final score at 1-0 in favor of Georgetown.
Following the match, three Musketeers, Emma Flick, Molly McLaughlin and Chloe Netzel, were named to the BIG EAST Championship All-Tournament Team.
The 64-team NCAA Championship bracket will be announced on Monday, Nov. 7 at 4:00 p.m., live streamed on NCAA.com.

The Musketeers and the Hoyas were scoreless in the first half, with Georgetown holding a 5-3 lead on shots and a 7-0 advantage on corners in the first 45 minutes. - Chloe Netzel earned BIG EAST All-Tournament Team honors as well, after scoring an insurance goal in overtime against St. John's.
