Women's Basketball Adds Two Players on National Signing Day

Xavier adds Holly Griffiths and Aby Shubert to 2023-24 roster
CINCINNATI - Xavier head women's basketball coach Melanie Moore announced the signing of Holly Griffiths and Aby Shubert to the 2023-24 roster on Wednesday.
"My staff and I are really excited about this class," said Moore. "We believe that both Aby and Holly will complement the pieces we already have in our program. They are both incredible young women who come from outstanding families and they will fit right in with the culture we have established at Xavier."
Is a five-year varsity starter... averaged 21 points per game as a junior with a .440 three-point field-goal percentage... is a four-year All-Hiawatha Valley League honoree... is a three-time All-MSHSL Honorable Mention Team selection... played for the Minnesota Fury AAU Team from 2020-22 and the Minnesota Stars AAU Team from 2016-20... ranked as the No. 7 player in the 2023 class in the state of Minnesota... helped the Minnesota Fury to a state runner-up finish in 2021 and a fourth-place finish at UAA in 2021.

Participated in both the NBA Academy Women's Program and Basketball Without Borders... played for the Bulleen Boomers Basketball Association (AAU Team)... led the Boomers to a Big V Open Women's Championship Division Runner-Up finish in 2022... was a U19 Gems Camp (AIS) invitee in 2022.. played for the Victorian Navy State Team at the U20 Australian Nationals in 2022... also played for the Victorian Navy State Team at the U18 Australian Nationals and U16 Australian Nationals.

"Holly has great size and great length. She is part of the Victorian State team's that compete at the Australian nationals from U16-U20 and been part of Junior NBA Academy. She currently plays with WNBL Southside Flyers teaming up with Australian great, Lauren Jackson. She has the ability to score the ball, has great face-up skills and can knock down the three. On the defensive end, she can really block shots and rebound."
