Ryan Cahill and Diego Nava Named BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week

The pair picked up a second-straight win in the No.1 spot to help Xavier to a third-straight match win

NEW YORK - After helping Xavier men's tennis pick up a third-straight match win, the Musketeers' No. 1 doubles duo of Ryan Cahill and Diego Nava were named the BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week, the conference announced on Wednesday.

Cahill and Nava earned their second straight victory this past weekend, picking up the 6-3 win in No. 1 doubles against Youngstown State, earning the doubles point and helping the Musketeers to their third straight match victory.

This is the first weekly award for Cahill, a freshman from Western Springs, Ill. Nava, a graduate student from Woodland Hills, Calif., was named the BIG EAST Singles Player of the Week for the week of 2/1/2022. He also entered the ITA Singles Rankings at No. 64 in the most recent rankings.

Xavier returns to action on Friday February 11, hosting IUPUI at Eastern Hills at 1:30 p.m.
