Musketeers Open the 2022 Season with a Victory

With a two set deficit heading into set three, the Musketeers battle back to take the match
BUFFALO, N.Y. - The Musketeers opened the 2022 season on the highest of notes - a two set deficit turned into a three set sweep to win the match. Xavier took the match 3-2 (11-25, 21-25, 25-18, 25-21, 15-9).
• Senior outside hitter Brooklyn Cink led the Musketeers with 16 kills.
• Senior setter Carrigan O'Reilly added 33 assists to her already 2214, moving her only 128 assist from ninth in the record book for career assists.
• Graduate transfer (Virginia Tech) Angel Robinson stepped up big in the fourth set with two crucial block assists where the set was going point for point.
• Sophomore libero Lucia Corsaro recorded a team high 21 digs with 10 digs in the fourth set alone.
• Senior middle blocker Delaney Hogan, senior outside hitter Maryann O'Toole and Cink each tally up three blocks with O'Toole recording the only block solo of the game.
• Robinson recorded the highest attack percentage (.556) for the Musketeers with 10 kills on 18 attempts.
• Xavier moves to the lead (2-1) in the all-time series with UAB.
• The Musketeers return to action at 3 p.m. to take on the Cleveland State Vikings in the Buffalo Tournament.
