Xavier will travel to Buffalo to participate in the Buffalo Tournament
BUFFALO, N.Y. – Xavier volleyball hits the road to open the 2022 season at the Buffalo Tournament hosted by the University at Buffalo. The Musketeers will compete against the University of Alabama-Birmingham, Cleveland State University, and the University at Buffalo. Xavier will open tournament play with UAB on Friday at 10 a.m.

• Senior Carrigan O'Reilly was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team on Aug. 16 for the second consecutive season.
• O'Reilly ranked third in the BIG EAST in assists per set (8.96) last season. The All-BIG EAST performer recorded 987 total assists to rank 104th in the NCAA. She added 156 kills, 11 aces, 251 digs and 56 blocks. O'Reilly also recorded 11 double-doubles and was one of 10 players nationally to record a triple-double.
• Xavier will play 10 non-conference matches and compete in three tournaments. The Musketeers open the season at the Buffalo Tournament on Aug. 26-27, taking on UAB, Cleveland State, and Buffalo. Xavier will also travel to the Louisville Tournament on Sept. 9-10, taking on Lipscomb and Louisville or Purdue.
• The Musketeers host the Xavier Tournament on Sept. 2-3. Xavier will welcome Eastern Michigan, Purdue Fort Wayne, and Virginia to the Cintas Center with play beginning Sept. 2nd at 3 p.m.
• Xavier takes on crosstown rival Cincinnati on Sept. 17 at home in the Cintas Center.
• The Musketeers take on teams from seven different conferences during non-conference action (C-USA, HLC, MAC, ACC, ASUN, BIG TEN, and AAC). Xavier will face one new opponent for the first time in program history in Purdue Fort Wayne.
• Xavier opens its 18-match BIG EAST schedule on Friday, Sept. 23 vs Villanova. The Musketeers will split BIG EAST play with nine home games and nine on the road.
• Xavier closes its BIG EAST schedule with back-to-back road matches at Marquette (Nov. 18) and DePaul (Nov. 19).
• Xavier posted a 11-18 (6-12 BIG EAST) record during the fall 2021 season. The Musketeers had a notable win over Providence in a three hour match. The Friars led the match 2-0 heading into the third set but the Musketeers captured the third set 28-26 and swept the final two to take the match. Xavier also swept the weekend matches against Villanova and Georgetown on the road the first weekend of October.
• The Musketeers ranked 54th in NCAA volleyball with an average of 16.17 digs per set. Xavier also made the board after being ranked 65th in team digs with 1,795.
• Xavier graduated seven players and returned 10 letterwinners. The Musketeers welcomed three transfers and one freshman to the program.
• Xavier will play host to Eastern Michigan, Purdue Fort Wayne, and Virginia in the Xavier Tournament in the Cintas Center on September 2nd & 3rd.
