Cross Country Opens 2022 Season at Queen City Invitational

CINCINNATI - Xavier cross country opens the 2022 season at the Queen City Invitational on Friday, Sept. 2. The meet is being held at the Valhalla Course on Northern Kentucky's campus.
The women's 5K race is set for 5:30 p.m., while the men's 5K race is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.

PARTICIPATING TEAMS
Northern Kentucky, Xavier, Kentucky Christian, Midway, Mt. St. Joseph's, Union and the Cincinnatus Elite Running Club
• Admission to the Queen City Invitational is FREE for all spectators. Free parking is available for all teams and spectators alike in Surface Lot 6 (by the softball field) or in Kenton garage.
• For fans and supporters coming out to the meet, use 513 Johns Hill Road on your navigation app, which will bring you to the back entrance of NKU's campus. There will be signage and volunteers to point fans to the appropriate lot and course. Please note, the course is approximately half a mile away from the parking areas and is accessible by foot only.
• The Musketeers are competing in the Queen City Invitational for the first time since 2019. The Xavier women won the meet on Aug. 31, while the men took fifth. The first-place team finish for the women was their third Queen City Invitational Title (also won the team title in 2013 and 2015).
• In women's cross country, Xavier returns three of its top-five finishers from a team that placed seventh at the 2021 BIG EAST Championships (Fall Season): Parker Hopkins (44th - 23:08.80), Emily Sienna (49th - 23:27.30) and Sarah Been (53rd - 23:44.10).
• In men's cross country, Xavier returns two of its top-five finishers from a team that placed seventh at the 2021 BIG EAST Championships (Fall Season): Adrian Stuphan (38th - 26:37.00) and Trevor Nolan (50th - 27:11.10).

• Xavier returns to action at the Friar Invitational on Friday, Sept. 9. The meet is being held in Attleboro, Mass., at the site of the 2022 BIG EAST Championships (Mark Coogan XC Course at Highland Park).
The women's 5K race is set for 5:30 p.m., while the men's 5K race is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.
