CINCINNATI - After falling behind 1-0 in the first half, four unanswered goals, including three second-half tallies, helped Xavier women's soccer pick up a 4-1 win over Lipscomb on Sunday afternoon at Corcoran Field. Xavier moves to 5-2-1 on the season.

After nearly 30 scoreless minutes, the Bison struck first, taking a 1-0 lead after finding the rebound off the crossbar. Xavier responded less than five minutes later, with a goal from in front of the net for Brooke Sroka, from Molly McLaughlin, to send the match in to the half tied 1-1.

Xavier took the lead 10 minutes into the second half on a penalty kick from Molly McLaughlin and never relinquished it. In the final 10 minutes, Xavier added a pair of insurance goals, with Emma Flick scoring from Elise Le and Chloe Netzel adding a goal, from Ella Rogers, to match the season-high for goals at four in the eventual 4-1 win.

The Musketeers remain at home its final non-conference match, hosting Bowling Green on Friday, Sept. 16 at 6:00 p.m. at Corcoran Field.

30' | LIPSCOMB | Off the rebound of a shot off the cross bar, LU's Shelby Craft served the ball from the left corner of the box to just in front of the goal where LU's Kelli Beiler finished for the 1-0 lead.

33' | XAVIER | OAfter Lipscomb cleared the ball out of the box, Molly McLaughlin headed the ball back into the six-yard box where Brooke Sroka found it on the right side, tapping it to the lower right corner to tie the match 1-1.

80' | XAVIER | From just outside the box on the right side, Elise Le served the ball to the far post where Emma Flick used a header to finish to the upper right corner to make it a 3-1 Xavier lead.

85' | XAVIER | SLU's From the top of the box, Ella Rogers passed to Chloe Netzel on the right side. Netzel dribbled to the right edge of the six yard box, shooting just inside the left post for the 4-1 lead.

NOTABLE

Molly McLaughlin collected three points on a goal, her first game-winner of the season, and an assist to bring her season total to six points. She's now 2-2 on PKs for the season and 5-5 for her collegiate career.
Emma Flick scored a goal for a second-straight match, bringing her a team-high three for her freshman season. She also leads the team with seven points.
Chloe Netzel's goal was her second of the season to give her five points.
Brooke Sroka's equalizer was also her second of the season, bringing her season total to four points.
After going into the half equal with nine shots apiece, Xavier out-shot Lipscomb 17-0 in the second half. Xavier finished with a 14-2 advantage on shots on-goal.
Lipscomb held a 3-1 advantage on corners in the first half but the Musketeers had three corners after the break, while not allowing one for the Bison.
Maria Galley picked up her fifth win in-goal, collecting a save with one goal against in 90 minutes of action.
Natalie Bain also played the full 90 minutes on defense for the Musketeers.
Xavier set a season high for points (11), assists (3), shots (26), and shots on goal (14), while matching the season high for goals (4).
