Cameron Wheeler Named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week

NEW YORK - Cameron Wheeler was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.

The Louisville, Ky., native helped the No. 24 Musketeers post a 1-0-1 record last week (W, 3-1 at Northern Kentucky on Sept. 12; T, 2-2 vs Seton Hall on Sept. 17). Xavier remains unbeaten on the year with 5-0-2 (0-0-1 BIG EAST) record.

The midfielder came off the bench in both matches, playing 39 minutes vs the Norse and 50 minutes vs the Pirates. He scored his first goal of the season vs Seton Hall. Wheeler added an assist vs the Pirates for his second assist of the year.

The Musketeers return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 20 at Evansville. First touch is set for 7 p.m. ET from Arad McCutchan Stadium.
