Track and Field Returns to Action at MSJ Invite

CINCINNATI - Xavier indoor track and field continues its season at the MSJ Invite on Saturday, Jan. 21. The meet is being held at Centennial Field House.

LAST TIME OUT

• Xavier indoor track and field competed at the Louisville Classic on Jan. 14. The men's and women's teams combined for five top-10 finishes at the meet.

• Jamie Klavon paced the women's team with a seventh-place finish in the 3,000-meter run (10:12.05). Lee Bennett placed ninth in the 60-meter dash (7.19) and Adrian Stuphan finished ninth in the 3,000-meter run (8:29.27) to lead the men.

COACH BURROUGHS

• Sam Burroughs was named the new head coach for cross country/track and field on Jan. 4, 2021. He joined the Musketeers after previously working as associate head coach at Cincinnati from 2013-20.

• Burroughs has over 20 years of collegiate experience. He has coached 96 individual conference champions and 46 individual NCAA qualifiers, while leading 18 teams to conference championship titles.
